Maiah resides between Adelaide and Melbourne, working broadly across professional and personal creative projects.
Her professional screen debut was in the widely acclaimed feature Girl Asleep, from director Rosemary Myers.
Recent theatre work includes A View from a Bridge, for the State Theatre Company of South Australia, and Emily Loves to Bounce, for Patch Theatre Company.
In 2018, she played the lead role of Chloe in Windmill Theatre Company’s Amphibian. She also filmed a guest role in ABC’s The InBESTigators.
With most of her background situated in the theatre scene, Maiah has undertaken several training oportunities, including participating in NIDA short courses, Estil vocal coaching, 16th Street Studio and Howard Fine workshops and, recently, an intensive masterclass with Larry Moss.
In addition to acting, Maiah is heavily involved in Adelaide’s filmmaking and writing scene, where she works with other artists to tell unique coming-of-age stories. Maiah makes much of her own work to inspire change, conversation and empathy. Her avid interest in writing has allowed her to collaborate and perform in short works – from spoken word short films to documentaries, while her producing and directing skills have seen her create music videos for indie singers and creative developments.
Currently, she is in pre-production for a series of short webisodes in collaboration with artists from Melbourne and Adelaide, designed specifically for the Instagram platform, which will premiere early 2019.
