Phillip grew up on a 12,500-acre wheat and sheep farm in Mukinbudin WA where his imagination literally had paddocks to run wild in. He studied music from an early age and found a love of performing and devising new work as his passion developed. Deckchair Theatre Company gave him his first role as Lenny in King For This Place in 1999, and later that same year he was accepted into WAAPA (Theatre), graduating in 2002.
Since graduation Phillip has worked extensively in the development of new works in a variety of genres and forms. Some of these projects include: Marlin Expedition and Sleepover with Arena Theatre Company for Vic Arts Centre; Hard Rubbish with Men Of Steel as part of The Malthouse Company In Residence program; Last Scene Imagining’s production of Home for Perth International Arts Festival 2007 and OT – Chronicles Of The Old Testament with Uncle Semolina & Friends for Malthouse Theatre 2007.
Recent theatre credits include: Robot Song, Starchaser and The House Of Dreaming for Arena Theatre Company; Mr Freezy for Men of Steel & Arena Theatre Company; Grug for Windmill Theatre Company; Three Dog Night for Two Blue Cherries; Duets For Lovers And Dreamers for 45 Downstairs; and various productions with Complete Works Theatre Company including A Man For All Seasons.
