Biography


Scout (they/them) is a non-binary artist based in Naarm (Melbourne). They are a 2020 graduate of the Bachelor of Fine Arts (Music Theatre) at the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA).

Currently, Scout can be seen in Storeyboard Entertainment’s production of Chess: The Musical. Later this year they will work on the highly anticipated Australian production of Moulin Rouge! The Musical which opens in Melbourne at the Regent Theatre.

Whilst at VCA, Scout’s credits included Morning Melodies at Hamer Hall (dir. Jayde Kirchert), Mongrel (dir. Maude Davey), Durdles in The Mystery of Edwin Drood (dir. Jason Langley) and Dance Captain on Our House (dir. Tyran Parke). They were the grateful recipient of the Orloff Family Charitable Trust Scholarship, the Cassidy Bequest Scholarship, the Mabel Kent Scholarship, the Ron Freedman Memorial Award and the Ron and Margaret Dobell Foundation Music Theatre Award.

Prior to this, they completed the VCA Music Theatre Foundation and trained at the May Downs School of Dance with Renie Ann Martini OAM. Scout made their professional debut as Jane Banks in Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins (dir. James Powell) in 2010 and appeared in the Victorian Opera’s The Magic Pudding (dir. Cameron Menzies) in 2013.
